A TEENAGE girl from Inverclyde has died while on holiday in Ibiza.
Danielle McCallum, 18, passed away in hospital early yesterday morning on the sunshine island after becoming unwell.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the UK Government says it is providing support to Danielle's family.
A spokesman for the FCO said: “We are in contact with local authorities in Ibiza following the death of a British national on 22 September.
"We have met with the family and will continue to provide support at this difficult time.” Hospital staff on the island also confirmed the tragedy.
A spokesman for Can Misses Hospital said: "I can confirm an 18-year-old British woman was admitted to Can Misses Hospital at 4am yesterday.
"She was admitted to the hospital intensive care unit in a critical condition and two hours later died from heart failure."
