YOUR Voice of Greenock hosted an event to give advice to help people ‘self manage’ long term illnesses.
Conditions covered included stroke, Parkinson’s, heart disease, cancer, mental health, arthritis and multiple sclerosis.
Information was given on treatment, as well as getting involved in social activities such as tai chi which can help with pain management.
A spokesperson said: “ Inverclyde Council on Disability, SAMH, Inverclyde Carers’ Centre, physical disability services from Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Bipolar Scotland, Multiple Sclerosis Inverclyde and the Stroke Association, who provided a blood pressure check, all took part in the awareness raising day.
“It was a successful event, giving local people and organisations an opportunity to find out more about what is available to them.” Anyone interested in finding out more should contact Your Voice, 12 Clyde Square Greenock by popping into the office, phoning 728628 or emailing enquiries@yourvoice.org.uk
