THIS striking sight of the new Ferguson Marine facilities certainly catches the attention of everyone passing the revitalised shipyard at night.

The massive shed is part of the £25 million investment made by billionaire businessman Jim McColl since he rescued the yard from administration in 2014, and set about transforming it into a modern construction hub fit for the 21st century.

Meanwhile, work is continuing on a £97m contract to build two 100-metre vessels for Scottish Government offshoot Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) for use on Caledonian MacBrayne services.
