BAKERY giants Greggs have now applied for planning permission for their new Port Glasgow cafe.
As revealed by the Tele a fortnight ago, the company wants to relocate its current Princes Street shop down the road and into the vacant former Farmfoods unit at the corner of Church Street, pictured.
A planning application is now lodged with Inverclyde Council to convert the building into a cafe with 10 tables, including two outside.
The proposed new cafe unit has been empty for almost a decade since frozen food retailer Farmfoods also relocated further down Princes Street to the old supermarket store below the town hall in 2008.
