A CHARITY which helps support some of the most vulnerable people in Inverclyde is expanding its services.

Back in May, bosses at Mind Mosaic told the Tele they needed support to meet growing demand for services.

Now, thanks to vital funding and support from a range of organisations, the charity has been able to split its adult and child services over two new locations in Inverclyde.

From November, the charity will base its child and family therapy services at Riverside Inverclyde’s Scarlow House Business Centre in Port Glasgow.

Until they move into their new premises, the service will be based at RI’s Ladyburn Business Centre in Greenock.

The charity has meanwhile opened a new adult therapy centre in Greenock’s Nelson Street.

Sandra Boyle, director of child and family therapy at Mind Mosaic, said: “The growth of our charity has been fantastic over the past few years and after a period of continued expansion, Mind Mosaic is now able to split our child and family therapies and adult services.

“The child and family facilities being located at Scarlow House enables a fantastic base to be closer to some of the service providers in Port Glasgow, with easy access in a comfortable environment for clients.

“It will also enable us to see more families and expand our services even wider.”

The charity’s expansion has been supported by a £256,000 award from Survivor Scotland as well as a £10,000 perinatal mental health grant from The Big Lottery Fund, a £13,000 award from Inverclyde Community Development Trust and £10,000 from Children In Need.

The charity has also secured a counselling contract with Ardgowan Hospice for employee counselling.
