THE bow of a new 100-metre ferry has been lifted into place in Port Glasgow.
Glen Sannox, which is under construction at Ferguson’s shipyard, is due to be launched on September 21.
The bow was lowered by a specialist crane and then welded on yesterday afternoon.
Glen Sannox is the first of two new CalMac vessels being built at the Port yard as part of a £97m contract.
She is due to be launched in just over a fortnight’s time by a high profile ‘national’ figure and expected to enter service on the Ardrossan to Arran route in the second half of next year.
