A MUM and son from Port Glasgow who helped look after neighbours during snowstorms have won a dream ticket to Florida with top TV show Saturday Night Takeaway.

Millions of viewers watched as seven-year-old Ross Foreman, his mum Lynn and sister Erin found out live on air that they were off to the USA.

Newark Primary pupil Ross and his mum Lynn had been nominated by a family friend as a thank-you for all their kind actions during the recent 'Beast from the East' blizzards.

Now Lynn, her husband Scott, Erin, 13, and Ross are on board a special Virgin Atlantic flight for a holiday of a lifetime with other winners to enjoy the live finale of the show.

The family had been watching the programme on Saturday at a friend's house when it suddenly cut live to the living room, leaving Lynn and Ross absolutely stunned.

Lynn, 37, who works in the office at St Michael's Primary, said: "I had absolutely no idea what was happening.

"My face was a picture!

"My friends are always playing jokes on me and I honestly thought it was all a prank.

"It wasn't until I was taken to where all the cameras were hiding that I even started to believe it was really happening."

"The first thing I said was, 'how will I get the time off from school?' and then I remembered it was the Easter holidays!"

The couple faced a hectic rush to get their suitcases packed before they set off on Monday.

Lynn added: "My husband Scott is the calm one, so he managed to get us all organised and ready to go.

"We can't wait."

Lynn's best friend Sharon Millar had nominated Ross and Lynn and was then told that they had won places on the plane, but she had to keep it a secret.

She somehow managed to pull the wool over Lynn's eyes to get her over to another friend's house on Saturday night and they were sitting on the couch watching the show with no idea of what was about to happen.

Sharon said: "I am so happy they won.

"Lynn is such a kind person.

"During the snow Lynn and Ross were out delivering care packages to neighbours - that is just the kind of person she is."

The family will now enjoy an exclusive seven-night stay at Universal Resort in Orlando and will join presenter Declan Donnelly in the live audience at the theme park for the series finale.

Lynn said: "We are so excited.

"I think they will need to scrape us off the ceiling!"
