SUPERMARKET bosses have vowed to fix their pothole-pockmarked car park in Port Glasgow.
Tesco say repairs will finally be carried out on the crumbling roads and bays outside their town store.
Shoppers have been complaining about the condition of the car park for several months.
There was uproar on social media earlier this week when large steel plates were put down at one of the worst-affected areas, next to the filling station.
But Tesco chiefs say this is only a stop-gap measure and plans are in place for a permanent solution.
A spokesperson said: “We have put temporary measures in place to deal with potholes at our Port Glasgow store, ahead of resurfacing works which are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.”
The steel plates have covered up the craters for drivers entering the car park via the petrol station entrance.
But one motorist who contacted our newsroom complained that they move around and are making a lot of noise.
He said: “It’s ridiculous.
“Cars are rocking about on them and they make a hell of a racket.
“The car park and the roads are in a real state.
“It’s high time Tesco gets them fixed before folk are put off from going there.”
