A PERVERT was caught with pornographic images of children after a police raid on his Port Glasgow home.
Alexander Gault, 63, pleaded guilty to taking or making indecent photos or pseudo photos of children at his house in Coll Avenue during an appearance at Greenock Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Vincent Canavan imposed a order banning Gault from accessing the internet for recreational purposes, as well as banning him from being left in the presence of anyone under the age of 16 without proper supervision.
The charge accepted by Gault relates to two dates in early October last year.
A not guilty plea to being in possession of indecent photos or pseudo photos of children between 16 February and 10 November last year was accepted by the Crown after discussions with defence solicitor Paul Kavanagh.
Sentence was deferred by Sheriff Canavan until August, with the 63-year-old bailed to appear again then.
Gault was snared during a huge police operation late last year.
Operation Sledgehammer targeted addresses where police suspected people to be in possession of child porn.
A team of 20 officers, including experts from Strathclyde Police's computer unit, swooped on addresses during the November dawn raids.
