A MAN was taken to hospital suffering from shock after a car accident in Port Glasgow.
The crash, pictured, happened at about 11.30am on Saturday morning near the busy Woodhall roundabout.
Inspector Cassie Glass of Greenock police said emergency services attended the scene.
She told the Telegraph: “It appears that the driver lost control and struck the central reservation.
“He was taken to Inverclyde Royal with shock.” The road was closed for a short time while debris was cleared from the site.
The smash was one of two in Inverclyde over the weekend.
The other saw a man taken to hospital after his car left an icy road and rolled over.
This incident happened just before 6am on Saturday morning at Harelaw Dam on Kilmacolm Road.
Inspector Glass said: “The car went off the road after it hit an icy patch and it rolled over. I believe the vehicle landed upright as the man managed to get out of the car.” Police and paramedics attended the scene and the man was taken to IRH with arm injuries.
Inspector Glass said there had been a number of accidents on Kilmacolm Road and has warned drivers to take care.
