ST Stephen’s High was the scene of festive fun as the school’s cracking Christmas fair made a welcome return this year.
The successful event also raised much needed funds for pupils.
A hard working team of staff, teachers and pupils pulled together to set up the event and at the end they were rewarded with a grand total of £2,000.
In a huge show of support from the local community, hundreds came through the door of the new community campus to join in the festive frolics.
The hugely successful event means that youngsters in the school will now be able to enjoy extra-curricular activities like theatre trips and other initiatives that add to their learning.
Clerical assistant Liz McKechnie, who organised the event with home economics teacher Yvonne Oswald, said: “It was our first fair in a number of years and the first one in the new campus.
“It was a great success and everyone worked hard to make it happen.” All the departments in the school were in on the act, with delicious home baking on sale alongside Christmas decorations.
There was also a chocolate fountain and a tombola, while local traders also came along to set up stalls.
St Stephen’s also had a bag-packing day in Morrisons supermarket in Greenock, which raised another £1,000.
The school would like to thank everyone who contributed to the coffers.
