A POLICE probe is under way after a man was stabbed in Port Glasgow.
The 34-year-old was attacked between Fyfe Shore Road and Kelburn Terrace early on Monday evening.
Detective Inspector David Wagstaff, of Greenock CID, said: “There was a serious assault between 5pm and 6pm in the area between Fyfe Shore Road and Kelburn Terrace in Port Glasgow.
“A 34-year-old man was struck and pushed to the ground and thereafter stabbed in the legs with an unknown sharp implement.
“He managed to get home and then made his own way to Inverclyde Royal Hospital where he was detained for further examination.
“Enquiries are at an early stage but there were possibly two of more attackers.
“We are appealing for anyone with information to contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
