A LITTLE girl from Port Glasgow got an egg-stra special surprise when she was picked to be the face of one of the world’s most famous chocolates.

Brooke Devenay’s winning smile will appear on Kinder chocolate packs all over the country this year after she was chosen as ‘The Face of Kinder’.

Her proud parents, Sheryl-Anne Forbes and fiance David Devenay, of East Barmoss Avenue, can’t wait to see their beautiful wee girl’s face in shops and supermarket aisles.

Sheryl-Anne, 29, who works for Inverclyde Council, said: “You never hear about anyone winning anything like this so it was a big shock.

“When we found out we laughed as couldn’t believe it.

“Our parents are delighted, especially my dad as he’s been showing everyone the picture of Brooke that will be on the packet.

“It will be weird to see her face on it.” Dad David, 27, who works as a fireman in Govan, added: “I was more shocked than anything as there were thousands of applicants.

“Obviously because it’s your own daughter you’re biased but we still couldn’t believe she had won.

“She loves getting her photo taken so she had a great day at the photoshoot.” It was last summer when Sheryl-Anne noticed an advert on children’s TV for the competition.

She added: “We just entered her name for a laugh and we didn’t think anything of it.

“As part of the competition Brooke had to choose something she would like to be painted on her face, so she chose a unicorn as she loves My Little Pony.

“A while later we got an email to say she had made it to the top 50 before we were told that she was one of six winners for the UK and Ireland who were chosen by judges.

“I think she won because her idea was quite different.” Four-year-old Brooke, who attends Newark Nursery, was whisked down to London for a photoshoot where she received the VIP treatment — including her own chauffeur for the day.

Sheryl-Anne said: “The unicorn was hand drawn onto Brooke’s face, it looked so good.”
