Greenock arrows fanatic Colin McEachnie has hit the bullseye with the game’s elite, who have agreed to take part in exhibitions at Port Glasgow’s Boglestone Community Centre throughout 2015.

Up first is ex-pro and darts commentator ‘Hawaii 501’ Mardle, who will take on local players and entertain darts fans in an event in aid of Broomhill Boys’ Club tomorrow.

Colin is organising the day to help the Greenock club, where he is a coach.

Reigning world champion Anderson plays at the same Port venue in December — just a fortnight before he defends his darting crown.

He will return to Boglestone after making his debut there last year alongside Ted ‘The Count’ Hankey, Andy Hamilton and Greenock’s own Mark Barilli at a successful event in September.

This time he will be joined by rising star and world number 21 Michael Smith. Fellow PDC top-flight ace and world number eight Dave ‘Chizzy’ Chisnall will also headline an exhibition in August.

Colin told the Tele: “It’s a busy time.

“It’s scary what Mardle can do with darts — he’s the best on the tour for exhibitions. He’s been in five semi-finals and three major finals so he’s a good player. There are also still chances to play Mardle on the day, which we haven’t done before.” But the pick of the bunch will be the chance for local fans to see Gary Anderson and his world championship trophy up close. Just a few months after his last visit to the Port the ‘Flying Scotsman’ went on to win the coveted title.

Colin said: “We must’ve been a lucky charm. Since he came here he’s won four tour events and a major.

“He’ll have his trophy with him and the exhibition is two weeks before the world championship.” l A Day at the Darts with Wayne Mardle starts at 1pm in Boglestone Community Centre, Port Glasgow. Tickets cost £15 and are available on the door.
