THE Tesco superstore in Greenock"s Dalrymple Street will not open tomorrow as planned.
For the second time in days the re-opening of the supermarket has been delayed - it was due to open its doors on Monday morning but that was postponed until tomorrow at 8am. Now the shop will not be ready before the end of the week.
Work was still frantically continuing on the new car park and the exterior of the building this morning.
The Inverkip Street store had been due to close for good on Sunday but was forced to stay open on Monday and today. Due to the further delays it will now remain open tomorrow and will be receiving new deliveries of food.
On Monday a spokesman for Tesco told the Tele: 'We wanted to be sure that everything was complete before the store opens and believe it"s the right decision to delay opening.'
It is not known when the Inverkip Street shop will close its doors for the last time.
Nobody from Tesco was available to comment on when the Dalrymple Street store will finally open.
