TERRACE TALK: Fan's view
WHAT happened to the good old days when we used to go down to Palmerston Park and return with a positive result?
Earlier this season we were soundly beaten 4-1 before losing on Saturday 2-1 to a team who are most definitely not as good as Morton are.
For the first 45 minutes I thought we would stroll to victory and it was only a matter of time before we scored but unfortunately we lost silly goals in the second-half to a team of very limited ability.
I thought we played some decent football on a pitch which was certainly playable and in decent condition considering the poor weather forecasted throughout the week.
We now have to pick ouselves up this week when the march to Hampden takes a difficult journey to Motherwell and whilst all Morton fans would love us to win, I just hope we at least make a fight of it and possibly bring them back to Cappielow for a replay.
The fact that First Division teams have done remarkably well in recent years in the national cup competitions means we should go into this game with no fear but it certainly will take a huge effort from the team to get a result and keep our dream alive.

Report commentWe have a decent team but it is not yet the finished article. We have a fantastic midfield core in Tidser and Bachirou, and our strikers are as good as any in the division. Our deficiencies lie in defence where we look fragile every time the ball comes in.
I would hope that Allan Moore gets Fred to extend his contract, and also Peaso and Archie, otherwise we are doomed to be in a sort of footballing groundhog day where we start building a team from scratch every summer.
