JACKPOT: The 20-year-old man won £50,000 from bookmaker Paddy Power, which has a branch in West Blackhall Street, Greenock.
A MAN from Inverclyde has scooped a massive £50,000 playing a gambling game on his mobile phone.
The lucky 20-year-old, who has decided to remain anonymous, celebrated the win from bookmaker Paddy Power yesterday.
He accumulated the bumper haul over a number of games of roulette on his phone.
A spokesman for Paddy Power, which has a branch in Greenock town centre, said £50,000 is the biggest payout ever secured for the mobile game.
The lucky winner decided against going public with his win and instead asked Paddy Power to release only a few personal details.
He is thought to have been out and about in Inverclyde when he hit the jackpot.
The spokesman added: "The player accumulated the monster payout over a series of spins on roulette on Paddy Power's mobile casino game, which only launched late last year, and is available on all handsets via mobile web.
"Number 29 seemed to be his luckiest choice - it won for him on 25 spins of the wheel."
Bookmaker Paddy Power said: "We're delighted someone can have so much fun while walking the streets of Inverclyde."
