ANOTHER Inverclyde councillor has confirmed he is bidding to be selected as the SNP’s candidate for next year’s general election.
Math Campbell-Sturgess has officially announced that he has been formally nominated as a prospective candidate.
The Greenock councillor had long been rumoured to be interested in running but had not confirmed the move until now.
He will be up against the council’s SNP group leader and fellow councillor Chris McEleny and Yes Inverclyde frontman Ronnie Cowan, who are the only publicly declared names in the frame so far.
Cllr Campbell-Sturgess said: “I can confirm I have been nominated to become the SNP’s Inverclyde constituency candidate along with several other members.
“Good luck to all.”
