It’s probably one of the most instantly-recognisable symbols in the world and the outfit associated with it is the only uniform to be issued a trademark registration by the US Government.

Now, the Playboy Bunny’s home - the Playboy Club London in the very swanky area of Mayfair in the West End of the city - is turning its sights to the city of Glasgow for new Bunnies to join its team by holding auditions not too far from the city centre.

Since 1960, more than 25,000 Bunnies have been employed in clubs worldwide after taking an intensive six to eight-week training course where they were held to precise standards of dress, grooming, and service.

As well as this, they have had to pass inspection before starting their shifts each day to ensure their dress and makeup were in perfect order.

So, if you’re thinking about joining the team and heading down to the Glasgow auditions, this is what you need to know beforehand:

Where and when will auditions be taking place?
On Friday, May 12 from 12pm to 4pm at Alea Glasgow Casino in Springfield Quay.

Those interested in joining the team need to RSVP at tjohn@playboyclublondon.com.

Who is eligible to audition for a role?
Anyone can apply - no past experience is required. All successful candidates will undergo a tailored and intensive eight-week training programme and assessment to ‘earn their ears’ as a Playboy Club London Bunny.

How many jobs are up for grabs?
The club integrates premium gaming with contemporary nightlife delivered by two Playboy Bunny positions - a Bunny host or a Bunny croupier.

The same casting process applies for both roles, and there are positions available at the club for both.

Depending on whether you are a host or croupier, the club says its exquisite charm, top-level gaming, and entertainment makes it a unique destination venue for Londoners and employees.

What does being a Bunny croupier actually entail?
The club’s classic table games in the casino are all dealt by highly-trained croupiers. Mayfair offers the most sought-after croupier roles in the country. A fully-trained croupier can oversee a staggering £1m deals in just eight weeks of customised on-site training. To say it’s a unique proposition in the gaming industry is quite an understatement.

What qualities make the perfect Playboy Bunny?
You can take real pride in being selected as a Bunny, say recruiters. The distinctive costume represents one of the world’s most iconic and recognisable symbols. It is an image that speaks of the “good life, fun, excitement, sophistication, and charm,” and the employer is looking for bunnies that fit the brief.

How many hours do they work?
The Playboy Club London is open 24 hours a day, so both full and part-time shift patterns are in place. Currently, the club has bunnies studying for university degrees and running their own businesses in parallel to their roles, so there’s quite a mix on offer.

What does a Bunny beauty regime entail?
Achieving Playboy Bunny status is highly-coveted, so it’s important the brand’s standards remain high across the globe. Therefore, a groomed and manicured appearance is essential.
What does a head Bunny do?

Current head Bunny, Natalie Deegan, joined the Playboy Club London as a croupier. She said: “I relocated from the north to snap up the role and still, to this day, enjoy the passion and prestige the role offers.

“I am very proud to be head Bunny at Playboy Club London. It’s a privilege to be part of the iconic brand’s 50-year heritage.

“I now oversee up to 80 bunnies at one time. From recruitment and training to key events and ensuring key Playboy Bunny standards and practices are upheld. I am now a senior croupier at the Playboy Club London - the Rolls Royce of casinos.”

What might I not know about a Bunny?

  • Each club’s seamstress is available round-the-clock to make sure the uniforms are clean and in good repair for each work shift
  • Each Bunny is supplied with a complete costume: a bodysuit, matching ears, collar and cuffs, bow tie, cufflinks, tail, name badge, tights, and shoes
  • So far, more than 25,000 bunnies have been employed in the clubs worldwide
  • Actresses Lauren Hutton, Sherilyn Fenn, and Blondie rockstar Debbie Harry all worked as Playboy Club bunnies
  • Many celebrities have paid tribute to the Bunny costume in movies, TV, and print
