A security guard claims he was forced out of his job after a prank photo with Neil Lennon.
Hearts fan Steve Cairney, 48, was caught by the former Celtic boss making a '5-1' sign behind Lennon's back - a reference to Hearts win over Hibs in the 2012 Scottish Cup final.
His wife claims the security guard was forced to resign after Lennon complained about the gesture while attending the Hibs Player of the Year Awards dinner at Edinburgh’s Dynamic Earth, in April, reports The Scottish Sun.
His wife Susan shared on Facebook: "She wrote about the incident on Facebook, saying: “Neil and his Hibs team had their Player of the Year awards at my husband’s work.
“My husband asked Neil if he could have a photo with him, Neil agreed, my husband did the 5-1 with Neil, Neil wasn’t happy, Neil spat the dummy oot.
“Neil called him a p**** and said he would report him, Neil did report him, 20 minutes later. Neil & Hibs were raging.”
“Neil doesn’t know my husband lost his job because of this, Neil doesn’t know he was asked to resign.”
His wife shared a second photograph of Steve with striker Jason Cummings, showing the security guard pulling the gesture behind the Hibs player.
Steven and Susan declined to speak about the row.
Last night Hibs refused to comment on the incident.
And no one at Dynamic Earth could be reached for comment.
