Two schoolboys reportedly locked themselves in a Sainbury's store and enjoyed a £300 booze and food spree.
The kids, thought to be aged 12 and 13, hid in Sainsbury’s Kingsgate, in East Kilbride, and spent hours ransacking the aisles.
The pair helped themselves to hundreds of pounds worth of alcohol and food during their four-hour lock-in before they were discovered by staff.
The children were returned to their parents in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
A spokesman said: “At around 2am two boys aged 12 to 13 were found with items within Sainsbury’s Kingsgate.
“Parents were called and the children were picked up and are safe and well.
“Following further enquiries three items have been reported stolen. Enquiries are ongoing with Sainsbury’s.”
Police are investigating a theft at the store of a £35 camera and two memory cards that went missing from a stock take following the incident.
