An investigation has been launched after gunshots were fired at a flat in Renfrew.
The firearm was discharged at the property on Kenley Road at around 11.50pm on Thursday night.
No one was injured as a result of the incident but officers are treating the incident as a targeted attack.
Uniform and plain clothes patrols have been stepped up in the area to reassure the local community.
A road close Braehead Shopping Centre remains closed with forensics set up nearby.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Anyone with information that will assist the ongoing investigation, in particular if you saw anyone acting suspiciously or any vehicles driving off at speed, contact the Major Investigation Team (West) through 101 quoting reference number 4029 of 23 November."
