A MUM is celebrating losing two stones in less than three months after joining a slimming club.

Cindy Gavin, 29, has a nine-month-old son Caiden, left,  and four-year-old daughter Lilly.

She says her downfall was snacking on chocolate and crisps.

Cindy, of Skelmorlie, said: “I was generally fed up being big and decided I wanted to give this a shot.

“I’ve got two children and my youngest is nine months, it was a good excuse to call it baby weight.

“I was probably snacking, just grabbing things like chocolate and crisps that don’t fill you up. I was going back for more, instead of taking the time to make a proper meal.”

She went along to the group in May, weighing in at 16 stones, and after shedding the pounds is much happier.

Cindy said: “You don’t have to give up any foods and you can eat anything you want and you get lots of support at the club. I feel a lot happier and healthier. It’s the simple things, I love running and I don’t get sore knees anymore.”

She hops to lose another stone to hit her target weight.

Lisa McNellis, who takes the group, says she has been so inspired by Cindy and other members’ stories that she is launching a second group at Wemyss Bay Community Centre on Mondays at 9.30am.
