A KILMACOLM doctor went the extra mile to help raise more than £15,000 to help train surgeons in Malawi.
Dr Emilia Crighton, pictured third right, completed the five ferry challenge with her colleagues from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow Council.
She said: “It was really tough with the endless steep hills to climb but we kept each other going. The camaraderie made the muscle burn and strain bearable and the good cause made it all worth it.”
The amount raised will go towards a £50,000 fund which will be used to deliver one-year medical training placements in Scotland to trainee surgeons from Malawi.
