NETWORK Rail’s chief expressed his thanks to the Friends of Wemyss Bay Station for all their voluntary work.
The rail company’s chair, Sir Peter Hendy, visited the station to see the extensive renovation work that has been completed at the station and the pier, including the improvements made by the Friends.
They have introduced flower displays, created a station garden and operate a second hand book shop and gallery.
Sir Peter said: “I enjoyed going to Wemyss Bay a great deal, both to admire the wonderful station and to feel the commitment of all parties, particularly the Friends, to the future of such a beautiful place.
“Network Rail really appreciates the commitment shown by volunteers and partners.”
