A WEMYSS Bay butcher is celebrating after his ‘lamb lollipops’ won a prestigious competition.
Nigel Ovens from Mearns T. McCaskie says he was delighted to make the cut by winning the ‘Champion of Champions’ prize at the Chef’s Choice Scotch Lamb PGI contest.
He said: “We are proud to be recognised for using such high-quality Scotch Lamb and feel incredibly honoured to win the very first Chef’s Choice Scotch Lamb PGI Award.
“We always strive to provide the best quality meat and encourage people to buy locally sourced produce.
“Our customers love our Scotch Lamb lollipops and it seems the judges did too.”
The awards, which were organised by Quality Meat Scotland, saw judges tasting everything from burgers and sausages to marinated chops and Scotch pies.
