RAIL users in Inverclyde are being warned that services in and out of Wemyss Bay look set to be off for the rest of the day due to severe flooding.
As a result of the adverse weather, train operators ScotRail say some services are subject to disruption, whilst the Wemyss Bay service is unlikely to be reinstated until tomorrow.
The company says the route is unlikely to get up and running again today due to levels of flood water on the line between Drumfrochar and Branchton stations.
A ScotRail spokeswoman said: "The majority of our services are running.
"We are monitoring the situation and working closely with industry partners to limit the impact of the severe weather.
"Replacement buses are being provided where road conditions allow.
"We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by circumstances outwith our control."
Local affected services are as follows: Glasgow to/from Wemyss Bay suspended; Glasgow to/from Gourock starting/terminating at Paisley Gilmour Street (attempts are being made to provide replacement transport between Paisley Gilmour Street and Port Glasgow.
ScotRail is advising customers to check before travelling today.

Report commentThe only agenda here, is lack of investment to the track and the land it runs through. Running stock is of more importance than line maintenance, nice shiny carriages that keep your feet dry.

Report commentIt astonishes me that Major privatised the railways (thanks to the Ulster Unionists) so that we could have choice and the country would save all the money it was spending on subsidies and now we buy all the rolling stock for private companies to make the profits! You'd have to take a mortgage out to travel to Dundee 2nd class.
You cheer me up sometimes Jock, today was hell on wheels and it's nice to read to witty comments from somebody who KNOWS what life is all about.
