AN INVERKIP nursery has been voted one of the best in Scotland by the hugely influential Netmums website.

Enchanted Forest in the village has won the approval of the internet mums’ brigade after picking up some top feedback on the online forum.

Since taking over the nursery three years ago and changing its name, owners Mariessa and Bernie Devlin have turned it into a top performing childcare facility.

This was reflected in the award, one of a number of accolades to come its way.

Owner Mariessa said: “We are absolutely delighted with this award because it is from the parents.

“It is also a huge reflection on the work of our staff.

“Quality of care is our driving force and we work closely in the community.” In some of the comments made, parents praised the staff at Enchanted Forest Inverkip.

One parent said: “The staff are fantastic — very low turnover and highly trained. The facilities are of a good standard. They benefit from a location close to a park, marina and fields so they get plenty of fresh air and exercise in good weather.” Another poster wrote: “A wonderful nursery whose staff team set them apart.” Enchanted Forest fills a huge gap in provision in the village, working in partnership with Inverclyde Council and North Ayrshire to deliver funded nursery places. On top of that they also have an after school care scheme.

Last year they teamed up with us for the TeleToddlers contest, offering the winners a much sought-after place in the Inverkip nursery for six months. Look out for the return of the competition and details on how to take part very soon.

The staff at the Inverkip nursery also recently won a company award for delivering top class childcare.

Mariessa added: “They have worked so hard and thoroughly deserve the awards coming their way.” Netmums launched the nursery awards to recognise good practice and to help parents make informed choices about childcare. The website is a UK phenomenon and has become hugely influential in campaigning for the rights of parents.
