FIREFIGHTERS spent 29 hours tackling a raging fire in Kilmacolm.
Three crews rushed to the scene of the blaze in a woodshed at Knockmountain Farm in Cloak Road at about 4.30am on Saturday morning.
Nobody was injured as a result of the blaze, which was still raging hours later.
Greenock fire station crew manager Craig Dooner said: “Around 500 tonnes of logs were on fire, so when we arrived the building was well alight.
“The crews worked hard through the night to tackle the fire.
“No-one had to be rescued as the fire was in an outbuilding on the farm.
“Two crews from Port Glasgow and one from Greenock were there initially before they were relieved by the day shift crews who were there on Saturday morning.” Firefighters then worked all day Saturday and through the night until they eventually left the site at 9am yesterday morning.
The cause of the fire is not clear at this time.
