Scottish Bafta

I was honoured to present an award at The Scottish Baftas on Sunday.

The ceremony was star-studded and I got to meet some of my favourite actors like Dr Who’s Peter Capaldi, pictured, and movie star James McAvoy.

I also caught up with Martin Compston who is currently filming the new series of Line of Duty. Martin paid tribute to film-maker Ken Loach with an ‘Outstanding achievement to film’ award and thanked Ken and his team for casting him in his first movie Sweet Sixteen.

The Greenock actor is busy as ever and tells me he’s enjoying married life. It was so lovely to hang out with him and get a boogie on the dancefloor!

Other winners on the night were Douglas Henshall, who won Best TV Actor for BBC Drama Shetland, and Kate Dickie, who took Best Actress for Indy film Couple in a whole.

Back on Air!

I will be back on the wireless as I step in to host BBC Radio Scotland show The Music Match.

I will be presenting the show LIVE tomorrow night from 10pm to 1am, so please tune in for everything from Take That to Paul Weller.

I have such an eclectic taste in music that I’m not sure what the producers are going to make of it, but I think the audience will like my random selection of my favourite tunes.

I’ve only dabbled in radio, so I’m a bit nervous but I’m sure I’ll soon get into it. Wish me luck!

Groovy Grandparents

I love the Tele’s new competition to find Inverclyde’s greatest grandparents.

The comp is looking for inspirational people who always bring a smile to their loved ones’ faces.

You can put your grandparent forward for any reason, from their glamorous appearance to their caring nature. The winning grandpa will win £250 plus single malt whisky from Gordon and McPhail.

The winning gran will also get the same cash prize plus a make-up lesson with my good friend and celebrity make-up artist Terri Craig.

Roller Derby

Inverclyde roller derby open day sounds like fun. I’m planning to take Junior along for the family roller disco from 3 to 5pm.

I haven’t roller-skated in years but I’m sure it will come back to me as soon as I put my skates on.

There is also chance to get involved in the roller derby league, so if it’s something you fancy or want to find out more and you’re over 18, come along to Lady Octavia Sports Centre on November 12 between 1 and 3pm.
