SCHOOL'S out for summer, not just for our pupils but also for the politicians.

As we looked out the windows it felt more like the October break with the autumnal rain continually falling.

Although we are in recess the work doesn’t stop. My office remains open and my staff and myself will be around to help constituents, visit local organisations and meet people in the office.

Have a great summer everyone and I hope you all enjoy some rest before returning back to work.

Last week saw the deal signed between the Conservative UK Government and the DUP from Northern Ireland.
Well done to the DUP for extracting over £1 billion extra from the taxpayer.

The deal they have signed also only lasts for two years so I’m quite sure further talks for a second deal will take place in due course.

The flip side to the deal is the shoddy way Scotland, Wales and England have been treated.

Additional money in one area tends to have a knock-on effect elsewhere through what’s called the Barnet Formula.

The fact remains that despite the calls in 2014 to vote No in our referendum and help shape the UK, we, and others, have been shortchanged by the Tories, propped up by their DUP colleagues.

Scotland should have received a proportionate £2.7 billion.

So what exactly did the Scottish Conservative MP’s and the Secretary of State do to fight Scotland’s corner?

Clearly, what Tories normally do for Scotland. Nothing.
