Sweet Day Out A group of Inverclyde-based artists and musicians are holding a day of art and live music at The Beacon Arts Centre.

Absent Voices is a project which tells the creative story of Greenock’s sugar industry of the past. The exhibition includes drawing, paintings, photography, stained glass and poetry.

Plus you can see work produced by local primary schools and community groups. It all sounds very interesting and unique and it’s all FREE!

So why not pop along and educate yourself on Inverclyde’s Sugar heritage? Friday 28 March from 2.30 to 8.30pm.

Glam Gala I cannot wait for the Greenock Tele Charity Gala later this year.

Jai McDowall, pictured, will be joining us for a night of champagne, fundraising and fun with Tam Cowan.

I was at an event when Jai sang for a family who had lost a loved one serving in Afghanistan.

The whole room went silent, his vocals were phenomenal and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. He’s amazing.

It’s going to be a great night — hope to see you there, but be quick as there are limited tickets available! It’s on 22 August. Tickets from Tele office on 558925.

Easter at Kelburn Parents, I’m sure you’ll agree it can be a challenge keeping the wee ones happy and busy during the holidays!

Junior is so active — I’ll be filling my diary with lots of days out for him.

Kelburn Country Centre will have easter egg hunts from 5 to 20 April. There will also be bunnies, painting eggs and a duck race. Egg-cellent!

Please tweet me with any suggestions of fun local things to do with a three-year-old during Easter break. Visit www.kelburnestate.com BIG Weekend!
