Greenock Boy Stars In UEFA Champions League!

HUGE congratulations to young Mitchell Morris, who walked out as a football mascot in last week’s European clash between Manchester United and Bayern Munich!

The lucky Whinhill Primary pupil won the chance to line up with the world’s biggest soccer stars after his dad Steven won a competition on Twitter. Mitchell, 8, held the hand of Brazilian defender Rafinha.

He said: “I felt very lucky to have the once in a lifetime opportunity to meet so many great footballers.

“It was brilliant!” Well done wee man — you did yourself and Inverclyde proud.

Goodbye Waterloo Road AS well as being a great BBC drama, Waterloo Road has been a fantastic showcase for the natural beauty of Inverclyde and I am very sad the show has been axed.

Filming in and around Greenock has given extras work to local people and created a bit of a buzz in the area.

I’ve loved spotting the actors out and about filming on location and it’s even better when you see places that are so familiar on the screen.

Lets hope we have put ourselves firmly on the map as a beautiful setting for future TV and film projects.

Casting Call!

Educational Easter Break WE enjoyed a family day out at the Glasgow Science Centre.

Junior just loves walking (or running!) round the three floors of experiments, excitement and games.

There really is something for all the family, including a mini construction area and soft play, and the Planetarium where you can can see the sky at night.

Cineworld Imax shows films and documentaries and there are delicious snacks and treats in the Cafe. Check the website for easter events and offers www.glasgowsciencecentre.org
