I HAD a great night out at the wonderful Young Scot Awards recently.

A glamorous dinner at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow was followed by an inspiring ceremony which left me in awe of all the nominees and winners.

X Factor finalist Nicholas McDonald entertained with his sensational voice and I spotted lots of well known faces including The Big Reunion star Dane Bowers and I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! favourite Helen Flanagan, pictured, who tells me brunettes have more fun!

Huge congratulations to the Young Care Leaver Campaigners, who were crowned The Young Heroes of 2014.

The group works to win greater protection for teens moving out of care.

Pre-awards, I was invited to get ready at the VIP style suite in Fake Bake Salon in Glasgow, where I drank champagne, had my hair, nails and make-up done and of course — a spray tan!

I bumped into Bobby Norris from ITV2 show TOWIE who assures me HIS tan is all natural.

Yeah, right!

Bye Bye Bouverie What a shame the old tenements at Bouverie Street in Port Glasgow are set to be demolished.

I remember visiting friends at the flats growing up. There is a great view and I will miss the distinctive look of them sloping down the hill.

I completely understand they could not be refurbished or upgraded to modern standards, but it’ll be sad to see an empty space when a piece of the Port’s history disappears.

Fabulous Food!

I must mention an absolutely brilliant dinner I had at Fusion on Hopeton Street in Gourock.

I can’t recommend this fine dining restaurant enough.

I love the decor, which makes you feel like you are sat in someone’s dining room.

The staff could not have been nicer, the menus are varied and the food tastes sensational. The baked haggis parcel with whisky cream is out of this world!
