Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever seen a ghost?

With these two pointed questions, Greenock "cartomancer" John Davidson ends a series of interviews on his "Spooky Greenock" CD, a project he undertook after the Telegraph reported ghostly sightings in Greenock Town Hall.

All 50 free CDs have been snapped up.

Now it can be downloaded by typing "Spooky Greenock" into YouTube.

John describes "cartomancer" as someone who uses playing, tarot and number cards to make predictions.

This may be regarded as pure mumbo-jumbo, harmless fun or even sacrilegious.

Whatever you think - and, personally, I have an open mind about the supernatural - we shouldn"t lose sight of John"s stated aim of getting Inverclyde on the national ghost tourist map.

Edinburgh is the classic example of how to make money from such an enterprise.

Like it or not, the glaring fact is a great many people are fascinated by ghosts and are prepared to

pay to visit places where such entities have allegedly materialised, so why should Inverclyde not make money out of it?

People like a good fright.

They relish the hairs tingling on the back of their neck, so we should consider how tours could be done.Cruise ship passengers, for example, might be interested as an addition to the traditional bus trips.

"Spooky Greenock" is an aspect of Inverclyde we should not ignore if we are serious about attracting visitors.
