COUNCILLOR David Wilson wants to give the Port Juniors a civic reception for winning their league and winning promotion, all very commendable, but it would be more fitting if they gave them a park in the Port to play on.
The mis-named Ravenscraig Stadium is a disgrace. How many times this season has the ground been declared unplayable?
Remember it was Inverclyde Council who eight years ago turned the water off and removed the goals while the Juniors still had three games to complete their season. The reason for closure was the council required it for industrial use, but where now is the industry?
Congratulations to Brian Heron, Davy Hopkins and all the players and staff on their success in difficult circumstances.
To the councillors, with a few exceptions, who have no interest in the Juniors, I say once again to forget a civic reception and give the Port a stadium for the Port Glasgow Juniors.
