LAST week my family and I had the good fortune to go to see both Kayos Theatre"s production of The Wizard of Oz in Port Glasgow Town Hall, and the next night, the final of this year"s Megastars in Greenock Town Hall.
Both shows were absolutely terrific and showed many young people at their best.
Over the past year we have also attended several school concerts, the Malawi concert, the Recruit event and the recent St Stephen"s High School Question Time.
I have to say every one we have attended has been great and shows Inverclyde has an abundance of young talent.
These talents have come from singing, acting, playing instruments, debating, and with the Recruit programme the young people showing great expertise in enterprise.
Many of our young sportsmen/women and sports teams have also performed well over the last year, winning competitions, medals and accolades from Inverclyde and beyond.
All of this stands Inverclyde in good stead.
It also demonstrates the majority of our young people are good, well-behaved and try their best in all the pursuits they take part in.
The more youngsters that take part in these kinds of activities augers well for us in the future.
And for those young people not involving themselves in these positive pursuits, I would urge them to get involved.
