I am one of those lives that the Phoenix Community Health Project has helped save due to my past lifestyle of crime and addition problems.
Phoenix helped me to get physically, mentally and spiritually better by helping me to get fit and educate me on various physical aspects.
With this training my mental attitude changed and I ended up completing communication skills such as English and mathematics.
I furthered my education by getting various coaching and sports leadership awards all through Phoenix.
I have started volunteer work with Phoenix and various other organisations that they collaborate with, and I am still committed to today.
The work I do is in the community, helping mixed groups of various ages and backgrounds which has helped build my self-esteem and self-worth.
I can now give back to the community, instead of taking from it.
Being a local man, I am quite well known and it interests people how I changed my life, especially people who have the same background, and I have nowhere to direct them due to Phoenix being shut down.
I owe my life to Phoenix and my family has their son, brother, uncle, father and grandson back into all of their lives.
