Inverclyde Pipe Band say thanks
Going back to September 1983, we see Highland dancers Fiona McAskill and Jacqueline Dunlop - both 15 - in action with Inverclyde Pipe Band in Greenock's Clyde Square.
The band staged the performance as a thank you to the community and the district council for providing them with instruments and uniforms.
Fiona was a member of the Lindsay Wood School of Dancing and Jacqueline was with June Suttie's dance group. Jacqueline's dad, Jim, was the band's drum major.

Report commentHot off the press eh?? A 28 year old story, or did it take the band that amount of time to say thanks :-)? Anyway, a reflection on the days when the cooncil had money in the coffers if they could splash out on all that expensive gear! The band would be lucky to get a pair of drumsticks now!
