MONDAY'S paper carried a story and photograph about demolition teams moving in at the former Wellington Academy, which stands between Dempster Street and Wellington Street.

Today's picture dates to August 1975, and shows, in the background, the school during construction and, on the right, tenements in Trafalgar Street which were about to come down.
