MORTON suffered their first league defeat of the season on Saturday as they sank to a comprehensive 4-1 defeat in Dumfries.
Queen of the South shocked the league leaders as they stormed in to a 4-0 lead well before half-time at a rain-lashed Palmerston Park - with Peter MacDonald's solitary second-half counter scant consolation for the Ton and their fans.
But despite the defeat, Morton - who will hope to bounce back against Falkirk at Cappielow on Saturday - remain top of the First Division.
