WELL we managed it, Scottish League One champions season 2014-2015.

Saturday’s game was like the way we have been playing all season, making it so hard for ourselves by giving the opposition the lead. And I mean give them — our defence was caught out once again.

Then came the comeback once Scott Ross was sent off.

We knew when the first goal went in the second would only be minutes away. How often that has happened this season?

Then Declan McManus took the pressure off us with his 23rd goal of the season close to the finish.

It would be nice to see him back at Cappielow next season but with his extraordinary talent for scoring goals I’m sure he will be playing at a higher level come July.

I do hope he enjoyed his season at Morton. And it must be said he was really enjoying himself at the end of the match.

I’m sure he will remember it for the rest of his playing career. In fact he might never have a day like it again.

My only concern now is that we have a massive clear-out of the players.

For the last three or four years this has been the case and whoever was manager at the time had to rebuild a team from scratch.

This season’s team is starting to gel together.

They are getting to know each and this will only get better if kept at Cappielow for another season. Something to think about Mr Duffy and Mr Rae.

Who has been my outstanding player for us this season?

There is only one person, Derek ‘Del Boy’ Gaston. How many times, especially in the run-in to the last few games of the season, he has saved us from a humiliating defeat? His save against Ayr when we were 1-0 down was world class.

To the Morton players a big congratulations for securing the title.

You have worked hard and held your nerve to the end, just. Thanks for giving an old Greenockian a season to remember.

Cameron Spence, Greenock IF Carlsberg made Saturdays then I believe they would be something like this!

Start off in the Morton Supporters’ Club with DJ George Bowie performing and rousing the expectant Morton supporters for the anticipated victorious day ahead. On then to Cappielow where over 6,000 supporters roar the team on to victory followed by joyous scenes as a helicopter delivers the League One championship trophy to the magnificent glorious wonderful Greenock Morton FC. A party is then in full process as the players and staff make their way to the Morton Supporters’ Club and lead a bouncing support into a sing-along which lasted long into the evening. To coin a few phrases, OMG, pure dead brilliant and happy days as that was how many of us actually spent last Saturday living that Carlsberg dream.

The past season had many twists and turns, highs and lows and lots of criticism, with perhaps even some positive support for the management, players and staff. But on Saturday everyone seemed to be as one as we witnessed a wonderful occasion that showed just why we are Morton supporters.

Congratulations to Jim, Craig, all the players and all the staff for delivering us back to the Championship at the first attempt and I’m sure I am not alone when I say I can’t wait for next season to be upon us.

Hopefully many of the 6,000 who witnessed us being crowned champions will return next season. I’m sure there will be many ins and outs from the playing staff through the summer and for any of the players who leave the club, good luck and thanks for delivering us the end of season we hoped and prayed for!

John Gisbey, Greenock CONGRATULATIONS to Jim Duffy and all the players of Greenock Morton FC.

Next season will see a tough challenge to survive and will require some shrewd signings if we are to mount a challenge for promotion to the Premiership.

Having watched the great result from the Wee Dublin End, it brought back memories of watching past games over 40-odd years ago from same area. On a negative note though the toilet facilities are the same as I remembered them way back then. Douglas Rae, if you and your board have any positive plans for the future of Cappielow Park then if you ever decide to erect the new Arthur Montford Memorial Stand, then don’t forget decent toilet facilities for the home supporters and give us back the Wee Dublin End.

Ian Rorison, Greenock
