LEE Kilday has told how his former Hamilton Accies team-mates warned him that Morton will have to be on top of their game to avoid a slip-up at Annan today.
Skipper Kilday, who turned 24 on Thursday, signed for Accies aged 15 and spent seven years there before moving to Cappielow in the summer of 2014.
He still keeps in contact with several of his old pals at New Douglas Park and they explained that the League Two outfit ruthlessly punished every slight mistake they made on the day.
Kilday told the Tele: “We’ve got Annan today and we’ll be looking for a win down there.
“The boys will be right up for it.
“It’s a big game and a chance to get through to the quarter-finals, so we’ll have to go and apply ourselves the same way we did against Hibs on Tuesday night.
“They beat Hamilton 4-1 in the last round and a couple of my mates there said that they were rubbish on the day and Annan took advantage of their mistakes.
“They made a few mistakes at the goals, so we can’t go down and do that.
“We need to be organised and be better in the final third and create more chances.”
