MORTON have drawn Celtic away in the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup.

The Greenock men's reward for their comfortable weekend victory over Annan is a tie with Scotland's champions.

But the draw caused huge controversy after it was halted first time round amid embarrassing scenes for the SFA - which were broadcast live to the nation on TV.Celtic had already been paired with Dundee Utd away until the draw broke down when one of the balls opened before being drawn. In take two they landed the Ton at home.

This is the first time Ton have reached the last eight of the competition since 1999. They will take heart from the last meeting between the two clubs, when Dougie Imrie's extra time penalty dramatically sent the Parkhead outfit spinning out of the League Cup in September 2013 in the east end of Glasgow.

Ties are to be played on the weekend of March 5 and 6.
