NEW Morton director Alex Gray says he’s delighted with the achievements of the team last season – but now he wants to get down to business for next term.

The Blairs Windows boss was appointed to the board at the turn of the year and watched on as Jim Duffy’s side secured a respectable fifth place finish in their first season back in the Scottish Championship.

Morton secured a famous 3-0 win over Hibernian at Easter Road and drew 2-2 with champions Rangers at Ibrox along the way and Mr Gray is full of admiration for the Ton gaffer.

He is now excited at the prospect of next season and another strong division featuring Hibs, Dundee United and either Falkirk or Kilmarnock.

Mr Gray told the Tele: “Jim Duffy has done a fantastic job getting us finishing in fifth place and now we’re looking to consolidate that.

“We know it’s going to be a tough division next season but we need to be competitive.”

But while he is enjoying what boss Duffy is doing on the park, Mr Gray is focused on matters off the pitch.

He said: “I came on in December and I’m enjoying it.

“I want to look at the commercial aspects of the club and the business side.”
