JIM Duffy has confirmed Morton will play just the two previously announced public pre-season friendlies before going into League Cup group section action.
The Ton travel away to Livingston on Tuesday July 5 before hosting Premiership outfit Partick Thistle at Cappielow on Saturday July 9.
Besides those two outings, Duffy has arranged a handful of bounce games to be staged behind closed doors before the newly-rechristened Betfred Cup begins at Albion Rovers on July 16.
He told the Tele: “The Livingston and Partick Thistle friendlies will be our only two open-door friendlies, the rest are all closed-door games.
“I’ve got four of those arranged, and the first couple will just be looking at maybe playing different teams for 45 minutes with different mixes of the young players, senior players and trialists.
“That’s the reason why we have arranged a number of bounce games, to give us the option to look at one or two players and give the younger players some game time.”
