CONOR Pepper fears he is the forgotten man at Cappielow – despite previously being a stalwart for the Greenock outfit since signing back in 2014.

Pepper has been out of action for 10 months now since last appearing for Ton back in February in their 3-0 win over Hibernian at Easter Road.

But the Irishman is worried all his hard work and dedication to the Sinclair Street side over the past two years has been forgotten about because he’s been out for so long this term.

He told the Tele: “I probably played about 90 per cent of the games before the injury. I wasn’t usually on the bench, I’d always be there or thereabouts for the starting 11.

“To be honest people have probably forgotten about me because it was that long ago. This season has gone so well for everyone and I am delighted for the whole dressing room. It’s just something I’ve got to deal with myself.

“I’ve now just got to focus on this and see how long until I get back to full fitness.”

Pepper says his team-mates have been supportive of him since the recurrence of his knee problem – but he recognises they have a job to do and must focus on their own ambitions.

He added: “I’ve spoken to one or two of the boys, but there’s nothing they really can say. They’ve obviously mentioned that they feel terrible about it and all, but they’ve got a job to do as well – it’s just as friends really that they can be there for me.”
