AIDAN Nesbitt says he’s still weighing up his options ahead of the January transfer window when his loan deal at Morton is scheduled to come to an end.

Nesbitt insists he’s proud of how far Ton have come in the past six months since he joined, and that he would be happy to stay until the end of the season if that turns out to be his best option.

He told the Tele: “I’ve spoken to Jim Duffy and I’ve spoken to Celtic, but I think I’m going to take a bit of time to think about all of my options.

“It will all be done, whatever I decide to do, before the fourth of January anyway. It’s just waiting to see what happens in the end.

“Obviously I have really enjoyed my six months at Morton, we’ve done well. We’re doing well in the league, the League Cup, we’re still in the Scottish Cup, so it’s been a great six months for the club.

“If I do stay until the end of the season, I know the club have aspirations to go and finish strongly in the league and get another cup run in the Scottish.

“They’re definitely on the up, so staying wouldn’t be a bad thing!”
Nesbitt does admit, however, that with the festive period in full swing, the last thing on anyone’s mind — including his own — is transfer talk.

He added: “If I’m being honest, because there’s so many games on at the moment, it’s not the main issue for anyone.

“That’s still about playing games on the Saturday. When the time comes to decide what has to be done, that’ll happen.”
