TON boss Jim Duffy has confirmed his interest in Stirling Albion striker Dylan Bikey — but admits that interest from Hibernian might be too much for the Greenock outfit to compete with.

Bikey has bagged nine goals in nine games for Albion and boss Dave Mackay has already admitted that he expects to lose the Frenchman in this transfer window.

The 21-year-old has been handed a trial at league leaders Hibs, allowing boss Neil Lennon to run the rule over the forward ahead of the window  shutting next week.

And while Duffy says he is also interested in bringing Bikey to Cappielow, he knows the package offered by the Easter Road side will be larger and potentially more tempting than what is on offer at Morton.

He exclusively told the Tele: “There was contact made regarding the player, but I was led to believe he would be going to Hibernian.

“When it comes to situations like that, we understand our pecking order in terms of resources. So, if he goes to Hibs and they decide to take him on, then good luck to the boy.

“He’s one of a number of players that we’ve looked at.

“You look around, as we’ve said, and you’re hoping that somewhere along the line you can pick up good players and good guys who can come in and complement the team.

“But the interest in Bikey didn’t go any further than an enquiry and as far as I’m led to believe he looks like he’s heading to Hibs.

“I know he was in there training for a couple of days but that’s all I really can say because obviously I don’t know Hibs’s business.

“But I do believe they’re quite keen on him.”
