MORTON suffered defeat at the hands of Rangers in the Scottish Cup fifth round yesterday — with the Gers running out 2-1 winners in a closely contested tie at Ibrox.
Michael Tidser stunned Ibrox after just seven minutes with a brilliant volley from outside the box, before Kenny Miller levelled just six minutes later via a deflection.
Martyn Waghorn bagged what proved to be the winner after 61 minutes, but Ton could be more than proud of their performance as they battled hard against one of Scottish football’s most decorated clubs.
